Well, as you've probably worked out by now, my name is Wade Hayward and I'm a 26 year old Web Developer based on Sydney's Northern Beaches. I have been developing for the web since early 2008.
In 2008 I undertook a Certificate IV in Web Development at Kingscliff TAFE on the NSW North Coast (as I was previously residing on Queensland's Gold Coast). Throughout this course I received distinctions for all assignments submitted. Furthermore to this study, I also did a great deal of additional learning away from the course in my own time which helped me build my skill set (many online tutorials and text books later).
At the end of 2008, I relocated to Sydney's Northern Beaches to focus on and actively pursue my career in Web Development. While I was seeking employment, I worked on and created websites for friends and family to help build my experience and confidence. During this time I was able to build a small portfolio of websites and design examples to help get my foot in the 'web door'.
In June 2009, I finally got my break! I was employed by SavvyNet Systems in Brookvale, NSW as a Junior Web Developer and have never looked back. During my time at SavvyNet, I have worked with experienced web developers, software developers and I.T. support technicians and my knowledge, skill set and confidence has blossomed. Since joining SavvyNet, I have worked on roughly 40 different client websites in various roles.
My skills include, but are not limited to medium to high (x)HTML and CSS coding, experience with ASP.NET and classic ASP, experience with JavaScript, Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), project management, liaising with clients, following up leads, and everything in between!
My goals going into my next role are to build on my current skill set, to make new discoveries in the world of Web Development and to meet new and like-minded people. I also have a strong desire to learn and work with the PHP programming language. I am very excited and eager to start on my next role.
But apart from dedicating a lot of my time to Web Development, I also find time for lots of other recreational activities. In my spare time I love to spend time with my lovely fiancé, play video games, tinker with my moped, go to the beach (when it's the right time of year) and I am also a very keen snowboarder and skateboarder (yes, I am an actual human being who likes to have fun).
So that is me in a nutshell! If you have any other questions to do with my Web Development or just have a question for me in general, feel free to get in touch with me using any of the contact methods below. I look forward to hearing from you!
